We’re writing a plan for how Cornwall will develop over the next 10 – 15 years – which sets out what can be built and where.
The Local Plan brings together data and views to create rules on everything that makes up a place, from what to protect and how buildings are designed to how we get around. It makes better plans for the places we live and work in.
A Local Plan tells the story of what our towns, villages, hamlets and countryside are like now, and what we want them to be like in the future.
To understand what works now and what could be better, we need everyone to have a say in what Cornwall’s future looks like.
We’re at the earliest stage of writing that new plan. This is called ‘scoping the plan’. We have been collecting evidence and opinions to help us to understand how we will write the plan and what it should contain. We now want to hear your opinions on what we’ve found out.
If you are after the formal and detailed versions of all our scoping documents, you can find these at: Cornwall Local Plan – Scoping Consultation | Let’s Talk Cornwall. For those of you who are after a more basic overview we have put together short summaries of the main topics below.
